Avery and I decided to go meet Hubby for lunch today. While we were sitting there, we were discussing the awesome deal on airfare we found for my brother-in-law’s wedding in Seattle in September.
Hubby looked at Avery and said:
“Avery, do you want to take a trip to Seattle to see Uncle A get married? Or do you want to visit Mickey Mouse?”
Without missing a beat, she replied:
“I want to go to Uncle A’s wedding.”
We looked at each other and smiled. How sweet. She really wants to go to the wedding (she doesn’t know that she is the flower girl and she won’t probably till we get on the plane.)
Then she stops, bite of blueberry pancake halfway to her mouth…
“What a minute? What did you say, Daddy?”
And we glanced at each other over the table. Uh oh.
H: “I said, would like to go to Uncle A’s wedding or visit Mickey Mouse?”
A: “Oh. I want to go see Mickey Mouse.”
And we thought we had slipped one by her. Not a chance.
Good thing we are planning a trip to the mouse next year.
